THE QUINTESSENTIAL ENGLISH VILLAGE
Braunston
The nearby village of Braunston is a charming canal-side village that boasts the country’s busiest canal junction at Grand Union Canal and the Oxford Canal and has the beautiful All Saints’ Church, affectionately known as the ‘Cathedral of the Canals’. From Bragborough Hall you’re within walking distance of Braunston Marina where the narrow boats meet.
Waterside pubs are a great link to the past and The Admiral Nelson Pub is one of the best. A short stroll from Bragborough Hall takes you to the Grand Union Canal towpath where you’ll find the pub near the Braunston tunnel. Inside, families and the occasional dog relax and warm up in front of the welcoming log fire. There’s an excellent selection of local beers and traditional pub food if you’re hungry. Pair a pint with an afternoon watching the colourful visiting canal boats.
You can also find The Wheatsheaf Inn on the village green, The Plough along from the church and the Boat House further along the canal towards Rugby. All within walking distance from The Coach House.

WARWICKSHIRE MARKET TOWN
RUGBY
Just over the county border in Warwickshire is the market town of Rugby. Art lovers can visit the Rugby Art Gallery, and fans of the sport, which started at the town’s historic Rugby School, can visit the adjunct World Rugby Hall of Fame – a new state-of-the-art museum exhibiting the game’s history and greatest moments.
Rugby Theatre hosts ten productions a year, including classical drama, modern plays and mainstream musicals. Shows there are fun and intimate, with local volunteers the stars of the shows.
There are lots of cosy pubs in the town centre; a few of them have live music and open-mic nights, too, if you fancy a livelier evening. If you’re feeling peckish, then Rugby isn’t short of high street restaurants and independent eateries serving new and exciting breakfasts, brunch, lunch and dinners as well as traditional favourites.
